GOOGLE.ORG AI OPPORTUNITY FUND: ASIA-PACIFIC

Unlocking the AI Opportunity

for everyone in Asia-Pacific

Overview

According to the 2025 AI Opportunity in Asia-Pacific Report by Public First, AI-powered solutions are set to unlock USD 2.5 trillion in economic benefits across Asia-Pacific by 2030. With nearly half of the region’s workers and learners eager to use AI for upskilling, educators play a vital role in bridging the digital divide. By equipping students and professionals with AI fluencies today, regional productivity could increase enough to boost average wages by over 6% to create a digital future that works for everyone.

For Learners and Educators

With support from Google.org and the Asian Development Bank, AVPN is expanding the AI Opportunity Fund to the education sector to empower K–12 teachers and students, as well as university students and faculty, to build AI readiness.

This phase focuses on a scalable multiplier effect: by equipping educators with the skills to use AI effectively and responsibly, we aim to reach over 4.7 million learners across the Asia-Pacific region.

We are excited to announce 18 new subgrantees, bringing it to a total of 59 recipients selected by AVPN since 2024. These organizations are united by a shared mission to empower vulnerable communities, closing the AI skills gap and ensuring equitable access to the opportunities of tomorrow.
